In 2019, I entered an essay writing contest, answering the question, “Which major did I choose and why?” I didn’t end up winning, but I loved the essay anyway. Here is my essay explaining why I am a music major.
Hello, and welcome back to my channel. I wanted to sit down and verbally articulate my philosophy as a future music educator, so here it is. Leave a comment down below if you agree or disagree with me, or would like to add any of your own thoughts in the matter. Thanks for watching.
Welcome back to my channel yet again. I know, I feel I barely post and always try to promise to get more out there, but I promise a girl is busy haha. Anyway, here's a short video with a few tips on how to make your first year as a music student in a smaller university easier. Going into my senior year of college, I feel I can bestow some knowledge on to people who are entering the shoes I'm about to leave. If you like what I had to say, give the video a like, and comment any other advice you have. See you next time, whenever that is lol
Hello again. Here's another vlog showing my lack of percussion skills. For Bianca and I's junior recital, she will be playing the solo snare part, while the percussion ensemble, including yours truly, will accompany her. As someone not familiar with playing percussion, I hopped in front of a marimba to help get my part solid. Here's the process. Please like, comment, and subscribe for more content like this.
Hello and welcome back to my channel. Thanks for sticking with me for another hiatus. I've been super busy with this semester mixing with the complications of COVID, but I'm going to try and upload more again. This is a little video showing some of the process of composing in the studio. I had a composition assignment that needed me to use cubase, so up to the studio I went. Hope you enjoy the video. Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more content hopefully soon.
Hello and welcome back to the channel. This is a little Behind the Scenes vlog following the Black Lives Matter Choir/Percussion concert at Adams State University in 2020 (what a year). It's wild putting on a concert with masks on, socially distanced, and in the middle of the afternoon, but we did it. I capture some rehearsals and ask some participating members of the concert their opinion on the program. Hope you enjoy!
Welcome back to my channel! I'm excited to show the temporary changes to band to allow us to play together safely. Adams State is one of, if not the, only university in the state of Colorado to try an open campus semester. So far we've been successful at being safe (knock on wood), so band still meets in person. Here's what a typical band rehearsal looks like now. If you enjoyed the video, please give it a like, comment, and share. Thanks!
Hello, and welcome back to my channel for another vlog. Follow me around Colorado again with the Music of the Americas Project, directed by Dr. James Doyle. We take a short 2 day tour in Pueblo and Colorado Springs.
Welcome to another video following me around for the today. The Top of the Nation Honor Band is an annual event at Adams State University, where students from up to 30 different schools come together for a weekend to make music. It is a really fun time for everyone (except the people who have to organize it lol). This is the first day of the event, and at the end of the day, the ASU students put on a concert for the high schoolers.
I express some of the reasons why I think there is so few minorities in classical music. If you have any other opinions you'd like to address, you can do so in the comment section on my youtube page. Thank you.
Spend a day with me, a triple music major, at Adams State University. I am majoring in Clarinet performance, Music Education, and Composition. My entire week is pretty packed but I thought Monday was a good place to start. Enjoy!
Just me getting down with that (Wolf)Gangsta music before my Music Theory class.
A fun video with my friend Alex Youngbird.
