Teaching music is way more than just the notes and rhythms to me. My goal is to create an environment where my students can feel free and be themselves. If nowhere else in the world will accept them, they will always be accepted in my classroom. I want to build better people, not just better musicians. I want them to find themselves, who they really are and who they really want to become, in Ms. Mudiwa Williams’ classroom.” -Mudiwa Williams

I want to write a little bit of everything. I want to write for the weird ensembles that don’t have enough repertoire yet. I want to add to the growing world of percussion music. I want to write music that connects you to the main character in a video game, write a theme that sticks with you after the movie ends. At the end of the day, I want to write music that I like listening to.” -Mudiwa Williams
